Man in his 20s stabbed to death outside Sutton Coldfield pub on Sunday, Oct. 11

West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 20s was stabbed to death in the car park of the Beggars Bush pub on Chester Road in the early hours of Sunday. No arrests have been made; detectives are appealing to partygoers for CCTV and dashcam footage.

A man in his 20s has died after being stabbed in the car park of the Beggars Bush pub in Sutton Coldfield in the early hours of Sunday, West Midlands Police said.

Officers were called to the pub on Chester Road shortly before 2am on Sunday, 11 October, after reports of a stabbing. Emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the force's Major Crime Unit have launched a murder investigation. No arrests have been made, police said.

Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Follows said: "Our investigation is at an early stage, and our thoughts are with the man's family and friends today. We will continue to support them as our investigation progresses, and I'd urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam or CCTV to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

Police believe a large number of people had been at the pub for an event. The Sun reported the venue had been hosting a birthday party.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as they work to establish what happened. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or use the force's Live Chat facility, quoting log number 345.

The pub will remain closed today. A pub spokesman said: "We are working closely with the police as they complete their investigation, and the pub will remain closed today. We are supporting our franchisee and their team, who have been shaken by the incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim."

Enquiries remain ongoing.
